Transparent and optically clear, 3M’s Scotchtint films reduce up to 99 percent of harmful UV rays and reject up to 79 percent of the solar heat passing through your windows. They also help reduce winter heat loss by reflecting up to 35 percent of indoor heat back into the room. This means that these superior sun-control films not only save energy, but they also help keep your furnishings, drapes, carpet, woodwork, and artwork from fading. Scotchtint films both reflect and absorb more solar energy. Typically, colored or dyed films absorb the solar energy at the glass, reducing the direct transmission into the room; they do not reduce heat as effectively as reflective films, which have been precision-coated with metals. - Scotchtint Neutral combines low reflectivity and high performance. These films have a neutral/gray color because of their metal coating and will not fade or change color.
- Scotchtint Silver rejects heat exceptionally well. Its silver color (which is due to its metal coating) will not fade or change.
- Scotchtint Plus All Season films provide substantial summer and winter benefits and are popular in northern areas where significant climate changes take place.
- Scotchtint Nickel rivals the amber film in performance but transmits light and approaches the lighter neutral film in color. Aesthetically, the film offers a nickel appearance.
- Scotchtint Amber offers “wavelength selectivity” and features an amber hue. This film provides substantial summer benefits while maintaining a lower level of reflectivity and good visible light transmission.
